Commissioned into the Corps of Signals in 1999 through the Officers Training Academy in Chennai, Colonel Qureshi quickly distinguished herself through her commitment and expertise. In 2006, she served as a military observer in the United Nations Peacekeeping Operation in Congo, gaining invaluable international experience.

Her most notable achievement came in 2016 when she became the first woman officer to lead an Indian Army contingent at a multi-national military exercise. During ‘Exercise Force 18,’ hosted in Pune, she commanded a 40-member Indian contingent, collaborating with forces from 17 other nations, including the USA, China, and Russia. This exercise focused on Peacekeeping Operations and Humanitarian Mine Action.

In May 2025, Colonel Qureshi, alongside Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, led the official media briefing for ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a strategic military operation.
